Anniversary Praise and Prayer

In early November of 2013, a new website was turned on. On November 3rd of that year, I published the first Lambchow article. There was no grand plan, a blueprint for growth, or intent other than publishing what God was putting in my heart. My thoughts were, “Let’s drop a few seeds and see where God takes them.”  And wow, those seeds grew!

In a couple of weeks or days, depending on when you read this, Lambchow will celebrate ten years of seed planting ministry.  In that span, Lambchow has planted nearly 1.5 million seeds. That’s around 600 thousand times an article was read on our website or via email, nearly 700 thousand lessons distributed from our various Bible studies, and replies to over 5000 prayer requests. But those numbers only tell a small part of Lambchow’s impact. I know through email conversations that our readers share the articles, lessons, and truths with many others in various ways.

Over that time, God refined our vision, opened new doors, and continued to give me encouraging words to write for others. Our core verse is “But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” (1 Timothy 1:5, NASB95) I see Lambchow’s purpose as pointing our readers to Jesus, regardless of where they are on their faith journey.

When I started, there was no plan to impact any particular nation, people, or region. God opened the way for Lambchow into Africa, India, and the Philippines through various means. Over time, the African nations became Lambchow’s largest audience. Nearly 75% of you live in one of those African nations. Our life experiences and struggles may differ, but we share the same Lord, the same Gospel, and the same love.

You may think that over ten years, Lambchow has become this large ministry with staff and campus. Nope. Lambchow is as it began. One man seeking to share with others what God drops on his heart. No staff, no salaries, and no building (other than my home in central Illinois, USA). We don’t seek donations. My job and home church – The Vineyard Church Peoria- cover the ministry expenses.

Praise God with us as we celebrate 10 years of Lambchow. Praise God for the lives that He has touched through this seed-planting ministry.  Praise God for all who share our messages with others. Praise God for the technology that allows this all to take place. Praise God for His goodness, lovingkindness, and grace.

Pray with me that God continues to answer my writing prayer – “Lord, what do your people need to hear today?” Pray that I hear and obey the voice of the shepherd leading this ministry to whatever comes next. Pray for all of our readers that God would “grant them, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith; and that they, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that they may be filled up to all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:16–19, NASB95 paraphrased)
