“I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with my eye on you, I will give counsel.” (Psalm 32:8, CSB)
Revelation is more than the last book of the Bible. It is God’s promise as we walk with Christ. God is constantly revealing more of Himself to us. He teaches us in the pages of the Bible, He reveals Himself in the world around us and leads us in the way we should go. Whether we hear, see, and follow is another matter.
God doesn’t play hide and seek with us or hide away truth, daring us to find them. No, God is a patient teacher who leads us to new (to us) truths about Himself, ourselves, and the world daily.
The Bible says, “But as it is written, What no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived— God has prepared these things for those who love him. Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, since the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:9–10, CSB)
One of my constant prayers is, “What are you teaching me now, Lord?” I tend to ask God a lot of questions. The obvious time for that prayer is when things are going wrong. But God also uses the good in our lives to reveal His truths.
Sometimes, it may seem that we’re not learning much at all from God. But I’ll challenge you with this. We often don’t see God’s instruction at the moment. Sometimes, we need to look back at ourselves a year ago, five years ago, or even ten years ago to see how God’s revelation of truth has changed us.
