Adam, where are you? Where is Abel your brother? What is in your hand? Whom shall I send and who will go for us? Who do you say that I am? Why do you seek the living among the dead? Who is worthy to open the book and break its seals? These questions are like rare gems that, when found and considered, reveal truths about God and ourselves. Most often when God and angels speak it is in the form of instruction and command. But buried, and yet well known, are the questions that God or His angels have asked of someone like you and me.
Questions are designed to reveal. The answer to a question reveals something about the one being asked. But the question itself also reveals something about the person doing the asking. The larger revelation for us is when we turn these questions loose on ourselves. When we, so to speak, walk-in Adam’s shoes while he hides in the garden. Or with Jesus and the disciples as he asks the pinnacle question of “Who do you say I am?”
These are by no means the only questions that could be considered and the list may grow as this series of articles unfolds. And maybe, somewhere down the line, a more specific look at the other questions Jesus asked might grow into a second series. But, for the meantime, this is the direction the Lambchow articles are going to take. Examining these heavenly questions with the expectation of revealing something about God and ourselves.
